What ABOUT ME?

Born on a summer's night in July of 1947 in a small town in the Southwestern part of the Great State of Virginia.

My mom (female) and dad (male) had been married for about two (2) years and decided it was time to start having children.  I'll just add that I'm so thankful to God that I was born in a time when morality was alive and well and immoral people were made to feel bad, and that's the way it should be today.

My dad's family was from Mississippi and my mom's family was from Virginia; therefore, I spent my younger years growing up in one or the other of those two States.  In 1961 we moved to this town in which I now live and call Home and I have been here ever since.

After graduating from High School in 1965 I went to work as an Auto Parts delivery boy.  I spent one year of doing that when I tried to get a job at AT&T/Southern Bell.  Being told by the Personnel person, at AT&T, that I was classified as 1A for the Military Draft and they were not hiring guys with that rating, I enlisted with the USAF.  There was a war going on at the time over in a God forsaken place called Viet Nam and most every male in my age group was classified 1A for the draft, so I could understand the denial of my application for employment.

In 1967 I got married and in 1969 we had our first child.

After being discharged from the Air Force we moved back home and I set out to get a job.  My first stop was with AT&T.  During my interview with the Personnel Rep he asked me why I wanted to work for AT&T?  My answer, without hesitation, was, they had told me in 1966 that I was classified as 1A for the Military Draft.  Well that classification had now changed and my time has been spent serving my Country and I had come back for my job.  He gave me a dead serious look and said, "Really?"  Two (2) weeks later I started my employment with AT&T.
In Jan 2001 I retired from AT&T and started on a new career.

My wife was a banker and an old friend that she had worked for started his own Bank.  He had been calling her since the fall of 2000 wanting her to come to work for/with him again and help get his new Bank running.  We discussed my retirement and decided to move to Arkansas and she would go to work for him.  After telling him that I would need 'something' to do, because I was not going to be sitting around doing nothing, he said he'd hire me.  I accepted and off we went.  We spent 2 years there and moved back home.

Since then I've spent my time playing on the computer and getting involved with politics and doing the Doctor Dance.  No I've not ran for any office but I've been a reader and collector of all the news I can get on what our Country is involved with.

Let me say that during ALL of this time I've been a Christian man and have tried to live my life as God has told me to live in His Holy Word, the Bible.  So if you read my blog you'll find that I favor those who have a loving relationship with God.  There are a handful of men and women who serve in our political offices that do try to govern with the characteristics of a righteous person.

I am totally:

  1.  against abortion.
  2. for one man, one woman marriage.
  3. against homosexuality.
  4. for the death penalty.
  5. Conservative politically.
  6. anti-racism.
  7. for ALL the Amendments in our Constitution.
  8. for God, Family, Country.
My family now consists of 4 children and 11 grandchildren so I love to play the 'pawpaw' part of my life.  What a thrill it is when one of my little ones see me and starts screaming, 'pawpaw, pawpaw'.  You just don't know the joy that can give an old man.

For the last few months I've been trying to learn how to setup and operate a Blog.  I don't know if I'm doing it right or not but don't really care.  It's my blog and no one but me has to like it.  :)

If you have questions, just ask.  I'm not easily offended and love constructive criticism.  I have spent the last 44 years of my life being married and believe me.... I love constructive criticism.  lol

If you've read this far, with out stopping, then you probably don't have time to read my blog.  So let me say Thanks for stopping by and please do come back and visit anytime.  Comments are always welcome, with a couple of exceptions which I'll give in the 'Rules of the Comments' page.

Seriously, if you have any suggestions for this effort, please let me know.

Thanks again and God bless until the next time.
